More to love...

Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners

Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners. To my ears, Monk is one of the two finest composers of the last century. Brilliant Corners, his breakthrough 1956 album, features Sonny Rollins, Max Roach and other luminaries. This album might just change the way you hear music.

Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop - A Million In Prizes: The Anthology. This 2-CD collection has been in heavy rotation in my car recently. And it rocks. Case in point: I'm driving up I-94, headed to Chez Jordan in Milwaukee, blasting Wild America and singing along, full-bore. I glance down and notice the needle creeping past 105. Screw the parental advisory about lyrics; this album should have a warning about operating heavy machinery. It will make you drive fast.

Professor Longhair - Crawfish Fiesta

Professor Longhair - Crawfish Fiesta. If you don't have any 'Fess in your collection, now's the time to remedy that oversight. And Crawfish Fiesta is a good place to start. New Orleans party music at its finest. If you can listen to this album without singing along, you need to see a doctor.

Waiting For Godot

Guinea Pig Theater Presents: Waiting For Godot. One of my favorite plays, as performed by guinea pigs. High Art, folks. The pigs offer many other fine performances, too.

Bunnies

30-Second Bunnies Theatre - Bunnies parody your favorite movies, in 30 seconds, more or less. Funny stuff, here. A website worth returning to.

Apple PowerBook G4

Apple Computers. I used a Macintosh back in the '80s, and life was good. In the mid-'90s, I had to switch to PC because of some dumb job. After twelve long years in Windowsland, I finally returned to Apple, and life is good again. That's it. Not much else to say here. Macs are very good. Go get one.

Shaving Oil

Shaving Oil. It may sound odd, but try shaving with a few drops of oil instead of gels, foams or creams. Your face will love it, and you'll thank me later. Women have told me it they dig it, too. Many brands available. A few good ones I've tried; King Of Shaves, Cromwell & Cruthers, and Somersets.
